Two Mendocino County Finns, Arvid and Enoch Nelson, are profiled in this book, written by Arvid’s son Allan. Enoch was a radicalized mill- and woodworker; his brother Arvid, was a prominent socialist journalist for the Finnish-American press. The book offers a glimpse into the lives, loves, and political beliefs of two men who were active in the socialist movement in the early 1900s. Photographs, images, and original pen-and-ink sketches by Arvid complement the text.
